Philosophy

We aim for a lightweight site: typography, cached images, and minimal scripts. We do not run behavioral advertising or social trackers on these pages. Where storage is used, it should be understandable in one paragraph—this document is that paragraph, expanded for completeness.

Local storage key

The cookie banner stores a consent decision in localStorage under the key vd_cookie_consent with values such as accepted or declined. This avoids re-prompting on every visit and does not transmit to our servers automatically. If you decline, we still avoid nonessential cookies; the key simply records your preference.

Essential delivery

Our hosting environment may set technical cookies or tokens required for security, HTTPS, or load balancing. Those are considered strictly necessary for site operation and are not used for marketing analytics on this static publication. The exact names and lifetimes depend on the host’s stack and may change during maintenance without altering our editorial purpose. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may fail to load or submit forms reliably.

We do not configure those tokens for cross-site tracking, and we do not sell data derived from them. When we review host dashboards for security incidents, we treat log access as confidential and limit it to troubleshooting.

Analytics

We do not currently operate first-party analytics on this deployment. If that changes, we will update this policy, revise the banner text, and provide opt-out or minimization consistent with the stated purpose. Any future analytics would be chosen to reduce fingerprinting and to avoid sharing identifiers with advertising marketplaces. We would document data retention windows and whether IP addresses are truncated.

Until such a change occurs, you should assume no analytics pixel runs on these pages beyond what the hosting provider collects at the network edge for security. If you need certainty for compliance reviews, contact us and we will confirm the deployment snapshot for your date range.
